Philip has worked exclusively within the mineral products industry since leaving full time education. Passionate about driving competence levels within the industry, he has been instrumental in formulating a credible, independent solution for the industry to deliver End Point Assessment of Apprenticeships.
Phillip has served the industry for over 40 years and the judges recognised that through EMPI Awards, he has provided the sector with a solution that supports apprentices, the integrity of the qualification standards and improves safety through ensuring competence.
In addition EMPI Awards were runners up in the Best Personal Development Project Catagory. EMPI Awards is an independent awarding organisation for the mineral products sectors offering choice in the development and delivery of occupational & vocational competence assessment.
The judges felt there was clear evidence of support for the training and development of staff including wider CPD opportunities, responsibilities and competencies for all roles involving the whole workforce which in turn helps the industry to deliver safer, more efficient outcomes.
