Recognition of Assessor Competence Award (RACA)
Drive Competence. Deliver Safety.
Unlock the potential of your workforce with a bespoke qualification designed to train and certify assessors who evaluate the STLA RoadSURE Pro™ qualification.
The RACA is the gold-standard route to becoming a formally qualified assessor for mixer truck, tipper, and specialist vehicle drivers in the transport and construction sectors.
What is the RACA?
The Recognition of Assessor Competence Award (RACA) is a formal, nationally recognised qualification specifically created for professionals assessing the Specialist Transport & Logistics Awards (STLA) RoadSURE Pro™ programme.
Rooted in the National Occupational Standards for assessing learner achievement, the RACA combines a knowledge assessment with a rigorous performance assessment. This ensures every certified assessor can conduct fair, objective, and technically sound evaluations in real-world operating environments.
It’s not just a certificate — it’s proof that your assessors are competent in both theory and practice.
Why is RACA Needed?
To judge someone else’s competence, you must first prove your own.
In an industry where safety is non-negotiable, only competent assessors can protect the integrity of the RoadSURE Pro™ framework. Without verified assessor competence, organisations risk:
-
Certifying drivers who aren’t truly ready
-
Failing competent drivers unnecessarily
-
Compromising workplace safety and operational standards
RACA closes that gap. It gives training managers and employers complete confidence that every assessment decision is fair, consistent, and aligned with national standards.
Who is the RACA For?
The RACA is designed for:
-
In-house assessors employed by haulage companies, ready-mix concrete suppliers, and construction logistics firms
-
Commercial assessors working across multiple clients on a contract basis
-
Experienced drivers looking to formalise their expertise and move into an assessor role
No prior formal qualifications are required — just proven occupational competence in the vehicles you will be assessing (e.g. mixer trucks, tippers, etc.).
